Continuing the theme of Design Week in Milan, I would like to speak about the Danish brand HAY.
HAY was founded by husband and wife Mette and Rolf Hay in 2002.
Surprisingly, in the historical center of Milan, in the Brera district, there is a huge space called La Pelota. HAY occupied this entire building, and an adjacent patio too. In La Pelota they presented all their furniture and household goods, staged a mini-market and a cafe.
In addition to their regular goods, HAY presented the results of collaboration with guest designers.
For example, garden furniture collection has Palissade from the Bouroullec brothers, which they themselves describe as “strong without being bulky; elegant without being fragile.”
I really liked the lamp Rope Trick of designer Stefan Diez. The idea is very simple – the lamp moves on a flexible base that looks like a rope. The lamp can easily be directed in a wide range of positions. The lamp is a part of collection Wrong London – collaboration of HAY and London designer Sebastian Wrong.
More pieces of Wrong London collection.
About A Chair by designer Hee Welling.
This cast-iron candle holder (on the table) by Norwegian designer Lars Beller Fjetland automatically puts out the flame just before the wick burns out.
HAY showed so much more interesting, you can see it below.
